I have been loving these EAT signs I've been seeing on Pinterest. Here's some of my faves...

From Sweet Pickins blog

From Mini Manor blog
From etsy shop Flea Market Sunday
But they are always too big, or too expensive, or too..not me. So I made my own. I got little cardboard letters from Hobby Lobby. They were $2.47 each. Then I got a can of silvery spray paint, and used a 40% off coupon so my grand total was $10.70. AWESOME.

Here they are...before.

After getting sprayed..(I also did a clear coat to seal, which I already had)

And here it is!

What do you think? I like 'em.

Hopefully this is the last "Our Place" post I make for quite awhile. (like...hopefully won't have another until Nathan is done with school. AKA forever) First off, we love it. The location is perfect, and so is everything inside. (The only downside, there's no fan in the bathroom so sometimes it gets too steamy when taking a shower. But I'll take it!)

So I finally took pictures. You're welcome. It really feels like home. And that's good, since we live here. And will live here for a few years. :) Enjoy the tour!

Our front door. And our garden on either side of the porch.

You come up the stairs, and walk straight into our kitchen. (yes my chalkboard still says Happy Easter)

Dining room (table covered with Nathan's school stuff)
PS I made that little...what do you call that thing?
The thing above the mirror..yeah..well whatever it is, I made it.
(oh nevermind, you can't even see it in the photo.)
Looking out the left side of our deck. That is an apricot tree in the corner.
(and a pallet that I grabbed from the trash...need to figure out what I'm doing with it. )

And off to the right.

Living room

We now have two collage walls.

Bathroom

I love the little cubbies built in.

Our bedroom

Another built in! Love the shelves and cupboard.

Our dresser. (and the HOME sign I made. :)

 Beware...messy room below...

This is our office/craft room. Still in progress. We "built' this desk from three file cabinets from a thrift store
and some wood from Lowes. It's 11 feet long and I LOVE it.
(this is why Nathan's stuff was all over the table..we haven't finished this room yet)
Thanks for visiting our home! Feel free to visit in real life! ;)

Have you heard of Julep? Me neither. Well, now I have. It's a monthly membership where you are sent a box of nail polish and other beauty products. It's $19.99 a month, and you get $50 worth of product! You also always get 20% off the website and free shipping.

The thing is, I haven't been billed yet. You see...I entered a coupon code to get my first box free. And you can too! I'll tell you how in just a minute. I want to show what I got.

So when you first get on the site, you take a style quiz, and it tells you what kind of kit you should get. (you can switch up your style after the quiz..don't worry you're not stuck on it.) I'm a Bombshell, and my first box came with 2 nail pretty nail polish colors, mascara and a little foot scrub. Pretty awesome. (and their packaging design is awesome and makes me feel special.)

Here's what I got....

I opened the box and it reminded me of my style guide and said hello..

The nail polish was wrapped in a pink bag and tied with a bow. How cute!

These are the colors that I got. Shimmery goldish..and a purplely color. (they are wrapped in plastic so you can't really see the color)

I'm going to paint my nails and my toes today! Oh another cool thing about Julep is their products are free of toxins, and they donate a portion of every purchase to programs that help out women!

If you want to try it out, click on the link below, it'll give me some points or something if you use my referral code. (I don't know what point do.....but whatever.) Here's the referral code in case that button doesn't work..12673199

Every time we have moved before this last time, we've been free. Free from school and free from work. This time was different. This time was crazy. With Nathan being in school (right in the middle of mid-terms) and me working full time, it took awhile to get comfortable.

That being said, I still haven't taken photos. I'm sorry, and I totally would right now, but it's dark. So..I'm sorry. But I have taken pictures here and there, so you can just take a peek into the madness...which we call home.

Our new dresser from Ikea.

Roses from my sweet Nathan.

Our kitchen.

Cabinet knobs.

Our deck. (I dumpster dived for that pallet...not sure what I'm making with it yet.)

Our new couch. (I'll have to explain the story later.)

"W" wall. I am so happy with this!

Nathan's bald..and sunburned head.

Our thrifted hanging lights.

Chalkboard labels I made for my canisters.

Us on Easter sunday.

Our friendly army man.

I cut my hair.

She isn't in our new place. But she's cute. :)

Holy. Cow.

This past week has been insane! We found out our move in date was February 25th. So I scrambled to pack our home into boxes while Nathan was studying his guts out. Luckily he was able to help a little.
So Monday rolls around and Morgan brought his trailer over. Josh and Kevin also came to help. It took two trailer loads. But we made it over to our new place. We ordered a pizza and the guys took off...including Nathan.

So there I was in the house, surrounded by a million boxes. (how do people move when they live in a whole house? with like...kids and stuff? I NEVER want to move.) But I was off to the store. Our new house has a separate dining room (how fancy!) and a sliding glass door to a deck. It was starting to get dark, and I didn't want to be home alone, with a giant exposed window.

I got a curtain rod and double checked the width of my curtains and came back home. I installed the rod, and hung my curtains...then remembered I didn't check the height.

Cool. And even though they are ridiculously too short...they are still hanging. I haven't gotten back to exchange them. :)

Well, as of tonight, we are officially out of our old place. I was sad for about...3 seconds. And that was when I was sitting in the car, when we were about to drive away and saw these two sitting on the porch.

And then I was over it. Now I get to unpack...while Nathan studies. (luckily his anatomy midterm is Saturday. wish him luck!)

I'll post pictures of our place...when it's not boxes.

It's been awhile friends. A lot has happened in the last few weeks. I'll break down into a few sections. :)

Nathan: He is absolutely rocking anatomy (and all his other classes for that matter)! This is probably the most intense class he'll take, and he has an A. Just last week he got a 95% on a lecture quiz. The class average was 55%. How does he do it? Well first, hard work. He studies a lot, and is on campus in the lab frequently. Second, he loves it. He really enjoys learning about the human body. So it's fun for him.

Alyson: Work is still amazing. I never thought I would enjoy working as much as I do. And the people I work with are awesome and so talented. Our company is planning on partnering with up to 30 small businesses this year. This means up to 30 websites to design. It's a lot of fun, my co-worker/friend Tanner and I make the website team. I design, and he builds. So it works out well, I don't have to do any of the back-end stuff that I couldn't do...ever.

Our home: We're moving. Just a week ago I was on KSL looking at housing, not sure why, because we still have 6 months to our contract. But I found a place. It's perfect. It's a mile north of UVU, and 2.5 miles south of my work. It's the upstairs of a house, with a huge living room, larger kitchen and a deck off the dining room. It's super close to school and work. We ended up going over there the next day, and putting a deposit on it the following day! So we're moving the end of this month. We're in the process of showing our apartment and trying to get someone to take over the rest of our contract. It's been crazy, trying to schedule everyone coming to look at it. But moving just feels right, and we're really excited for our third move in our short marriage. :)

Our furniture: Basically...sometimes I feel like I belong on a tv show. Kind of like Extreme Couponers.. but maybe...Extreme Furniture Rotating. Let me explain. When we first moved to Utah, we scored a matching couch and love seat for $125. We didn't have room for the love seat, so we sold it a week later for $150. We also bought a tv stand for $40. We decided when we move we wanted to use our teal dresser/cake stand as a cute new tv stand and get a different dresser for the bedroom. So I put it online, sold it for $50. Then here comes the kicker. Our new place has a nice, huge, new microfiber couch that will stay there for us. So we decided to sell our couch. It sold yesterday for $200. Umm...thank you..I'll be here all week. But the week after that I'm moving...so I better get packing..

We flew out of Pasco on the 31st down to California. Hello 60 degree weather!

On the way
I see sunshine...

Hello California!
The first two nights, we stayed at Nathan's dads place. This meant we got to hang out with Jim, Michelle, Jordan and Maddie! We played games, ate great food and watched the ball drop. We also opened presents. Maddie and Michelle made us rice heat packs. (We love them!) And Maddie also made us a little ornament out of buttons, super cute! Sadly, our present to them hadn't arrived in the mail yet. But we got them a dice board game called King of Tokyo, basically..it's just all chance and pretty fun. The next day, we went and visited Nathan's Grandpa Norm. He had just had an emergency bypass surgery, on Christmas Eve. He was home, so we drove down there and visited Norm and Blasa. He was doing very well, and was happy to see us. That night we planned to play a million games, and we made empanadas to go with dinner. We ended up playing one really long game of Phase 10. It probably would have gone faster if we didn't stop every 5 seconds to watch cat videos on youtube.

The next morning we went over to Grandma Silvija and Grandpa Rons, and then we were off to La Jolla! It was the most beautiful day! The sun was shining, not a cloud in the sky and the water was crystal blue.  I love the ocean!

Big crash!

After the beach we went by the San Diego Temple. It was absolutely beautiful! I had only seen it from the freeway.

We had a wonderful and relaxing time. We got to see Uncle Ted as well. We had a big dinner, then had our Christmas! We got them a word card game that we love, called Quiddler. And we got a comfy dark blue throw and Silvija gave me a macro camera lens! The next morning Nathan and I wandered around the backyard taking fun pictures of...basically everything. We already love it, and Nathan is now really excited about using my camera. Here are just a few...

Not sure what this is...but it looks like Dr. Suess.

We call this one...Desktop Background

This is me, in a Christmas ornament.

We had such a great time visiting family. Can't wait to make it back down there!
